Boris Kadin

Versatile and internationally very active performance artist from Dubrovnik, Croatia. In his independent projects he often radicalizes the performance artist’s position. The same can be said for the Via Negativa projects, in which he collaborates from 2007 (Not Like Me, Out). In both projects he chose diametrically opposed starting points: in the first he “plays with knives” and in the second he “plays the rabbit”. In both cases, he at the same time plays with himself and with the audience’s attention, which he constantly and successfully directs toward him. By his eruptive imagination and explosive presence Boris is always “hunting for the real”. In the “knives scene” (Not Like Me), which triggered a small explosion in the Croatian media, he now cites blog comments, but as the rabbit in Out he says: “I’m proud of being a rabbit and having the soul of a body artist. I’m proud because tonight I won’t cut myself and finally all the kids will love me.”
