Katarina Stegnar

An actress, a dancer, and a performer, a graduate of Ljubljana Academy of Theatre, and one of the most versatile artists in the Slovenian contemporary performing arts scene in recent years. Her presence has made a noticeable impression in the Slovenian independent performing arts scene. She also regularly collaborates with Slovenian institutional theatre. She has been regularly working with Via Negativa since 2004. In the Via Negativa projects, she has created a space for conceptually consistent and innovative performing, marked by research, posing controversial questions, search for new, different forms of presentations and critical reflections about her own creative work and about the media she expresses herself through. As a performer she constantly evolves and deepens performative as well as referential component, and is uncompromising toward herself and her public.
