Collaboration with secondary
school dorm DDT Tabor, Ljubljana
Performance for fifteen secondary school students and a daily newspaper printed on the day of the performance. Students are fighting for their own sense and presence among daily headlines: politics, sport news, natural disasters reports, sex scandals, traffic incidents, obituaries, world stock market reports etc. They are reading headlines from the newspaper and shouting them from the stage.
“… The newspaper printed on the day of the performance demands special performer’s dynamics, which count on the element of unpredictable and reacts quickly. The result are performing personae(s), with their qualities and deficiencies, including juicy dialects and stage fright that sometimes ties the tongues and causes lapses… The effect is spontaneous and mostly witty, but when one observes those warriors, which are inside still “unstable images”, how they hurry towards the ramp and scream the titles, and when in the end one sees them each in his “warriors” costume in which he steps into the world, the title gets its melancholic colour – because by the logic of this world everything that follows are the ideas and ideals that this young people impersonate; each day one more will be sacrificed.
