Performance series
Via Nova is a performance series created on the basis of questions raised during our making of projects in 2002 – 2008. These are questions about relations between old and new, creation and destruction, theory and praxis, copy and original, contemporaneity and tradition, presence and absence, worth and cost, inside and outside … In Via Nova series performers raise these questions in new contexts, themes, interpretations and search for new forms of their presentation. These are small format performances (mostly solos or duet pieces) in which we exploit different performing strategies: lecture, dance, concert, documentary, interview, auction, visual theatre … Via Nova performances can be presented independently and also as collective presentations in which we connect them into new integrities and more complex structures.
A bold stage experiment
Stage reworks, contents upgrades and deliberate stage destabilizations of former Via Negativa works came about as a bold stage experiment, that today – in the time of mass obsessive craving after “radically perverted and forced being different” – dares to go where all the materials were already treated, intensively proceeds with the research of once solved questions and runs a risk to put them in a completely new contexts. “ (Zala Dobovšek: “We know, that you know”, DELO Ljubljana, 20.10.2009)
