Self-referential waters

Fifteen years after The Last Egotistical Performance and five years after The First Altruistic Performance, theatre director Mare Bulc returns to the stage with his third project. Just as his first solo was not really egoistic and the second not altruistic, so the third one is only partially related to the initial connection between the Via Negativa platform and the author. The Via Mama performance was created in the context of the 20th anniversary of Via Negativa, which invited the author to re-enact VN performance texts, but Bulc’s relation to VN led him (once again) into self-referential waters. In the performance, which he defines as a stand-up, Bulc grapples with his primary (theatrical and familial) socialisation.
