Balkan Connection
Collective presentation
The Balkans are an inexhaustible source of corpses and originals
Balkan Connection is a set of three performances directed by a Slovenian (Bojan Jablanovec) who brings together a Croatian (Boris Kadin) and a Serb (Kristian Al Droubi) in the context of Joseph Beuys, Marina Abramović and the theoretical reflection of Bojana Kunst. With Balkan straightforwardness, radicalism and humour, Boris and Kristian present their attitude towards the intellectualisation, mystification and impotence of contemporary art – without excluding themselves. “The Balkans – apart from the many corpses – have always been an endless source of originals. The concept of the new and the original is something so fatal and frightening that no one really has the courage to confront it… But we are not giving up. It is necessary to dig, dig, dig. And it is necessary to know where to dig.” Boris Kadin
