Perfomer

A versatile and internationally active performance artist from Dubrovnik. In his solo projects, Boris often radicalises the position of the performing artist, similarly in the projects of Vie Negative, with which he has been collaborating since 2007. In performance Not Like Me (2007) and performance Out (2008), Boris chooses diametrically opposite starting positions: while in the first project he is “playing with knives”, in the second one he is “playing the rabbit”. In both cases, he is playing – both with himself and with the viewer’s attention, which he repeatedly manages to draw to himself. With his eruptive imagination and explosive presence, he is always on the hunt for the real. In the “knife scene” (Not Like Me), which caused a little explosion in the Croatian media, he now quotes blog comments and, like the rabbit in Out, he says: “I am proud to be a rabbit and to have the soul of a bodyartist. I’m proud that I won’t cut myself tonight and that finally all the kids love me.”
