Nataša Živković

Dancer, performer

After graduating from the Secondary School of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana, she graduated in French Language and Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at the University of Ljubljana in 2009. She received her informal education in contemporary dance at workshops abroad and at home. In 2006 she was a DanceWEB scholarship holder at the ImpulsTanz international festival in Vienna. She works both in the institutional and independent scene. Since 2006 she has collaborated with Via Negativa, Emanat and City of Women. In 2009, she received the Golden Bird Award for her debut performance First Love, Second Time (Preboleti Naceta Junkarja) and for her dance-theatre work. With her second work, For-Fathers-Sake (2014), the so-called family trilogy began to take shape. In 2017 – 2019 she participated as a selected Slovenian artist in the international project Performing Gender – A Dance of Differences with City of Women. In her 2018 performance Sine, she questions the self-evident nature of gender and addresses the situation of women in the Balkans through the phenomenon of virginity. For this performance, she won the main prize at the 2019 ACT Festival Bilbao in the Best Performance category. In the same year, she received the Ksenija Hribar Award in the category of best dancer and performer. Since 2018 she has been teaching ballet and movement at SVŠGUGL.
