Špela Trošt

Producer

Since 2002 she is the producer of Via Negativa, a platform for research, education and production of contemporary performance art. Since 2005 she has been working as production manager and artistic director for performing arts at Sploh, an institute for artistic production and publishing. Between 2003 and 2009 she was the producer of the Studio za raziskavo umetnosti igre. In 2004 and 2005 she worked as production manager at Maska, an institute for publishing and production. Before turning her full attention to her work as a producer, she co-created more than 30 projects as an actor, dramaturg and assistant director. From 1995 to 2002 she was the artistic director of the theatre group “Gledališče čez cesto” and from 1996 to 2000 she was also the artistic director of the international theatre off festival GLEDOS in Kranj. In 1997 she was assistant to the selector for the theatre programme of the European Month of Culture, Dušan Jovanović. In 2003-2008 she was a professor of History of Dance and Theatre at the Slovenian artistic high school for contemporary dancers. In 2016 she completed her PhD at the Department of Philosophy and Theory of Visual Culture at Primorska University with her doctoral dissertation Genealogy of the Concept of Presence in the Performing Arts.
