Vito Weis

Actor, performer

He graduated in Acting in 2013 and works in the fields of drama, dance, physical theatre and contemporary performing arts. During his studies, he started to participate in productions of institutional producers (SNG Nova Gorica, APT, LGL, SNG Drama, MGL, Mladinsko) and independent productions (Gledališče Glej, Via Negativa, Bunker, Maska, PTL). He has collaborated with various directors and choreographers (Janša, Jablanovec, Divjak, Djilas, Horvat, Peršuh, Zupančič, Roschina, Jelen, Lampič, Živadinov, Pograjc, Hribar, Suša). He is the co-author or author of numerous performances and projects. He has received several individual awards for his work: in 2018 the Borštnik Award for his performance in Hero 2.0 (Moment Maribor and En-Knap), in 2015 the Borštnik Award for Young Actor in Madame Bovary (SNG Nova Gorica) and in 2016 the Golden Lion Award for his acting in Madame Bovary, No Tears for Faggots (Cankarjev dom and ŠKUC) and Hero 1.0. Together with Uroš Kaurin, they received the Critics’ Award for Hero 2.0 at the Thealter Festival Szeged. In 2019, he became a member of the Slovenian Youth Theatre.
